The Third Ward Beer Garden is a seasonal gathering spot in beautiful Catalano Square. Open May through October, the beer garden brings together neighbors, visitors, local brews, and live music in the heart of the Third Ward. Our menu features a curated selection of local craft beer, imported favorites, wine, canned cocktails, n/a options, and more — perfect for warm afternoons and relaxing summer evenings.

 

Guests can settle in at classic German-style picnic tables or gather around high-top tables crafted from repurposed beer barrels. Enjoy yard games and Wednesday Night Music Bingo, or visit Thursday-Saturday when live acoustic musicians take the rooftop stage — filling the park with the sounds of summer. ​

The Third Ward Beer Garden is managed by longtime hospitality professionals — and Third Ward residents — Dave and Leanne Hock. Together, they bring deep local roots and a shared vision: to create a welcoming, social gathering space that reflects the spirit of Milwaukee summers.

 

Catalano Square features a refurbished vintage bus shelter donated by the Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail. It is also home to Near & Far, a striking public art installation by artist Brandon Ming of House oF RAD, which adds a contemporary visual focal point to the Square. In honor of longtime resident Andrew Wadsworth, the sculpture invites viewers to shift perspective — encouraging both close-up exploration and appreciation from across the park — and reinforces Catalano Square’s role as a space where art, community, and everyday life intersect.
